Coinbase has recently announced its new blockchain and has seen an influx of daily users reaching a total of 136,000. According to Dune Analytics, nearly 30% of these daily users are considered to be new members.

Coinbase Launches New Project: Base

Base is Coinbase’s newest project which provides its users with faster transaction speeds and lower costs than Ethereum. It consists of over 100 dapps and service providers that allow for easy integration into the network. The beta version was released on February 23rd while the mainnet version released July 13th for developers and builders, with the final version being released on August 9th for public use.

Jesse Pollak, protocol lead at Coinbase commented on Base stating it provides a more scalable environment for dapps which allows for payments using crypto apps, launching DAOs or interacting with cryptocurrency projects such as exchanges.

Transaction Per Second

CryptoRank reported that Base currently stands in 4th position in terms of daily transactions behind zkSync Era, Arbitrum and Optimism. This shows robust growth in active users and transactions since its launch earlier this month.
